Albino Animals

People are interested in anything that is unusual. Forced to admit that these albino animals, whose only difference is their white colouring, provoke a fascination upon us. So here’s a Special Edition collection of 8 virtual trading cards called “Albino Animals” depicting some of these species in their rarest form.

Albinism is due to various gene mutations that affect the production of normal pigmentation. True (amelanistic) albinos lack melanin and are white with no marks and with unpigmented pink eyes. Leucism is also often mistaken for albinism. Leucistic animals, such as white tigers, are white or very pale, with dark eyes and some pigmentation, for example light markings. Other mutations can also cause white animals which would not be considered “pure” albino.
